Sylvania heritage village.jpg

Founded in 1833 and called the "City of Trees," Sylvania is a city of arts, history and culture located in NW Ohio, just west of Toledo, right up against the Michigan border. Several major highways will bring you into Sylvania, including U.S. 23 and I-75 from the north and south, and I-80/90 (the Ohio Turnpike) from the east and west. One of the reasons Sylvania is such a great place to raise a family is our focus on the value of education, and diverse arts, recreation, sports and community events opportunities. In addition to Sylvania Public Schools in higher education, Lourdes University takes center stage within the City of Sylvania. The joy of the outdoors is in our public parks, outdoor concerts at Centennial Quarry, and world-class golfers make the pilgrimage here to the Highland Meadows Golf Club for the annual Dana Open presented by Marathon. Our community is also supported by two hospitals, civic organizations, volunteer opportunities, and a vibrant business community.
